That sort of craft would be part of the 'Como culture', would it not?
Absolutely.
Btw, even the world famous Riva yard inherits its roots in lake Como.
In fact, they always built their boats elsewhere, but lake Como is where Pietro Riva (Carlo grandfather) actually learnt to build boats.

Now, this boat is an attempt to mix these roots with modern technologies.
Possibly hull #1, I don't know: even on the builder site, there are just a few pics...
Anyway, I'm afraid they didn't choose the best possible period in boating market, to invest in such project...
Though I guess that George Clooney could consider her as a small Xmas present for his Italian girlfriend! :D
Best of luck to the builder anyway. When seen in flesh, the woodwork is really superb - the pics don't do justice to her.

I cannot believe that someone could put such crappy fenders on such a nice looking boat. - How could someone spend huge amounts of money on something so good, but think some nice clean and matching fenders are a waste of money.

Maybe because it's the builder who still owns the boat? :o
She was spot at the builder's dock, in fact. Possibly waiting for some sea trial, I'm not sure.

hmm thats a Tulio Abbate and I hope this boat get more to something then a couple of hull numbers
the guy got talent but since the nineties he was never able to get onto something serious...
hope this boat is the one
nothing to say the builder is good in building fast boats, but managing a buisness I dont think is one of his criterias
he should IMO have been given some lessons by his brother before he left for a better world last year...
in the eighties Tulio Abbate company was bigger to Bruno Abbate look today how things stand...

Yep PY, I still remember when in the early nineties I used to see a 4 engines 90 footer being built in the very same dock...
It was easy to predict that not many others were going to be built.
I'm not sure now about this one, she might have its place also as a megayacht tender, time will tell.
Nice, she surely is.

PS for mjf: nope, "Villa d'Este Special" is the name of this model, though I guess that the Hotel reputation has something to see with the name choice...

Villa d'Este is something special - thanks for your correction on name.
