Yeah, just got a call... bought a wrecked Sealine 305 Statesman for the fun of it, been lying up for 7 years (was on fresh water, though)

What's the story with access to fuel tank(s?) - We have a friend who will tackle engine, i'll tackle out-drive and fuel tank (hopefully) - Is there an inspection hatch on top, and where are the things located? Plan is to empty it, flush with some fresh and repeat a few times...

Well, that's the winter bordem sorted, anyway. Last time my friend came home with a wreck (RIB) we ended up cutting out the floor, re-doing the stringers and glass a new floor in... I love messing on projects that aren't mine :D

BTW, she's Volvo diesels, but I can't remember from the pics if it's 4 / 6 cyl.... 4 cyl - AQAD31 I presume? Would she have possibly come with AQAD41's?

She's approx. 1989 and looks to be on DP-E out-drive (they're duo prop, anyhow, but possibly earlier revision than the DP-E)

Most tanks are under saloon floor.

If you need any help with the switch gear gear give us a shout

Many thanks. Should arrive on a truck some time next week and we'll start stripping back to see what state she's in

Probs an AD31 on a 290. Great package if it's been looked after. Just about to fit the exact same in a brand new Pirate22 that came from one of our own Colvic boats.

2 other boats, another Pirate and and Avour23 have ordered new Hyundai T200s, jolly nice units. One owner put almost 5000hrs on his old non-comercial 170. That's going for it. Worth thinking about?

From what I can remember from the pics, given there was a metal expansion tank (painted green) at the front, starboard side of the engines, they're AQAD's (from googling) - can't remember if they were 4 or 6 cylinder, though.

The engines will be staying, not a re-engine project (budget wise). If we have to remove the engines for any re-build / works, then so be it... it'll keep us off the beer (or put us on the beer, more likely)

Should make a nice project, will soon clean up with a bit of effort, brings back memories had one of the first back in the

early eightys , ours was the Earl's Court boat show one ,biggest boat Sealine had made then , no thrusters then ,or sat nav,s

Our,s had the B M W 3.5 petrol engines and I think the B M W B220 legs, very smooth and quick back then but o so thirsty :)

That's the one. Kind of can't believe the guy bought it, but he's lethal for 'projects' like that.

We have bets on how soon we can get the engines running (not my dept) - i'll be whipping off the out-drives so they can't be turned over and then i'll tackle the fuel tanks.

Should be a fun winter for our group!

So, what would you value it at? Given it was bought 'as seen'

PS. I have no idea, but interested to hear opinions.

£5-10k I would say especially as the engines are unknown. Probably worth £25-30k mint to the right person. I’ve seen a petrol one on for £27k......but that’s a bit keen IMHO

A 320 statesman , which is possibly the same boat but with mercruisers and a bit newer? .........sold recently near us and was asking £42k. It looks very nicely kept.
The boat in this case will look a lot better after a weekends clean up . I am guessing it was bought under £20k. With a bit of luck it will cost little to get going. Batteries will be dead. Electrical faults from standing unused are likely to be common but easily fixed.

It was way below £20k, that's for sure.

It's expected there'll be a few ££ to spend, thankfully we run a bit of a man-shed so the labour is cheap :D Batteries, all service items, few surprises, new canopy ... it'll all add up.

One thing I expect will be a nightmare are those Eltrim Trim Tabs ...
