I inadvertantlely (duh!) switched the battery swtich to off whilst the generator was running (Panda with Kubota engine) and it died instantly and will not restart. I had a quick look and a 10A fuse had blown - this was replaced but blew again as soon as the battery was switched on.

Before I go investigating more thoroughly, does this sound like the alternator diodes have blown?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like more than the diodes have blown; what is the fuse for - is it for the starter relay or what?

Not too sure what that fuse is for (there are several) but I will this evening trawl the manual as it contains a circuit diagram of the 12V system.

i think a bit more info needed
what switch was it you turned off, was it the switch to its own start battery, if it was all it should do is shut it down rather like using its own stop, that should not have damaged its integral battery charging system.
the fuse that blew i would assume is on the output side, again by it being blown should not "stop the engine starting"
does the engine turn over and not run or do you get nothing at all or does the start panel light and when you turn the key you get nothing.

I've just spoken to Panda - very helpful chaps. It's either (or both of) a diode connected to the stop solenoid or a chip on the control panel.
