Fridge stopped getting cold

Still getting power and hums like normal but condenser plate in cool box ( top loader) does not get cold. Could it have lost ' gas' and can they be regassed? There is a little copper tube with a screw cap! Any pointers gratefully received.

They can be regassed but you'll probably need a specialist to do it for you. Make sure they check to see why the gas got lost, if that is indeed the problem.

As said, investigate the cause of loss of refrigerant before topping up.

Before you phone anyone to visit, suggest you note the markings on the compressor, it should have the gas type marked somewhere. If an old unit they will need to bring "old" type refrigerant.
