I have an old but very good Engel top loading portable fridge freezer, I have it enclosed in a small space below my fridge, it is 24v/240v to change over I have to swap over 2 plugs and slide over a plate that prevents any attempt to make a wrong connection.
Now the question, I would like to modify the wiring to enable me to switch it remotely, if it is practical, how do I do it please.

I'm not answering your question but why do you want to switch voltages? I have a 12V/240V fridge-freezer on the boat but always run it on the 12V battery supply. When plugged in to shore power it gets its 12V from shore power via the charger and battery.

I take your point but would like the option of easy switching, of available I prefer mains, gives the charge a rest anyway.

Presumably, once you get past the security, there's a 24v feed and a 240v feed which are completely separate. Plan A for me would be to wire up a 240v double pole relay that's normally closed to switch the 24v off when the mains is on and vice versa.

If you need to be told to wire it it parallel with the fridge, you probably shouldn't be doing it yourself... ;)
