There is a rumour that SWMBO's Dad wants to return to IRC Racing, albeit locally rather than with RORC. This is partly fueled by wanting some accomodation near the YC.

SWMBO and I are rather keen to encourage this and thus will leave adverts all over the flat, but I'm struggling to come up with the right boat.

In the past it has been Hunter HBs, 707s, stripped out Dehlers and the like. Now it needs to be just a little more comforatable (for the new wife) but a competitive nonetheless.

It also must not be French.

Or more than £50k.

Or more than 20 years old.

It's trickier than you think.

Here are few, they may push the age barrier a bit.

Scampi, you won't get anthing more competetive. Go like a rocket, esp upwind. Look to Scandanavia for a good lightly used example. Spend the spare cash on bottom prep, new sails and silver polish, you'll need it!

Contessa 33, Lovely Rob Humphries 7/8 fractional. Very good interior by Terence Conran, no less. I use to own one. Competitive 2 handed, then an Atlantic Circuit.

J-92, OK not much headroom, but you can trail it to Spi Ouest, West Highland Week etc.

MG 335?

I've found another....

Mumm 30. Ok bit spartan on the accommodation, but a load of fun, here's the video to prove it
