I am sure someone will have had this problem before!

I recently let the fresh water tank run out on my M33 Mk II and now, despite filling the tank, the pump works but the water does not flow. I have run dry before, but the pump has always primed and after burping some air the flow has restarted.

The set up includes an accumulator which I have drained. Can anyone prompt me as to how best I can get the water flowing again? The pipes are quite difficult to access, I have found.

Many thanks

Nick

With the pump running (and the tap open, obviously) put your mouth over the end of the tap and suck! Sometimes that will be enough to just pull fluid through the pipe and get things running. However, DO NOT use this method on a heads blockage......

On my Moody 31 the vent pipe for the water tank is lower than the top of the filler. If I fill it right up by mistake the vent pipe fills with water and then the water won't flow. The answer is to take the filler cap off, get a dinghy pump and seal it over the vent outlet and pump away. This produces a fountain out the filler cap until the vent pipe is cleared.

Failing that take the pipe off the pump on the tank side momentarily to bleed/prime it.
