Anybody know who supplies or makes a fresh water meter? It has a digital display showing litres used, and a button to reset to zero when tanks are filled. Had one on a bareboat charter years ago. Believe some Sunsail boats are still equipped with them. Great for kids to see who can have a shower with least number of litres! Where can I get one today?

Nice (meaning expensive) piece of kit, but not what I had in mind. The remote display was like a mechanical odometer, the transducer I suspect was a simple turbine meter, probably with a mechanical cable link between them. Time was about fifteen years ago, but as I said, Sunsail still advertise them as installed on some of their fleet, cheaper and more reliable than a tank gauge.

some while ago somebody on here used a simple Water Co "water meter" in-line in the main feed from the tank.
it does involve "doing sums" to track usage.the tank was filled & emptied to gauge capacity, then just read off whats used
i have searched back 6 months to no avail

I believe I have on my boat exactly the setup you are referring to, i.e. a mechanical meter+transducer on the outlet pipe (see photo) triggering a meter on the instrument panel, with a reset button to send the meter back to zero.

Looking at photos, I can see that the display is labelled "VDO", but unfortunately I have no picture where I could tell the brand of the transducer.
If you don't solve your question earlier, in a couple of weeks' time I will go to the boat and can check it out.

Such meters are fitted to some Jeanneau boats, could be worth calling a Jeanneau agent?
