I have recently purchased a Merry Fisher 755, all good so far but the bilge in the stern where the lazarrette is has fresh water gathering in it (small amounts c. 1 ltd in a week, but still a pest). The other bilges are completely dry and I am struggling to find where the water is coming from, any thoughts or similar experiences?

is that where the water tank is located? as its an outboard powered boat it's likely to be something like small leak from water tank.

Mind you, at this time of the year, condensation is quite common so try keeping it as dry as you can and then check whether after you go out for a spin the water gets there or after a week of staying on the mooring). If it happens when you go out on her then it's completely normal as there are a few deck fittings etc. which could be a bit loose and nothing to worry.

Thanks, that was my first thought although water tank is actually in the mid section bilge but there is a shower that runs from this tank on the swim platform so thought that may explain why it is only in the stern bilge. I'm working through the fittings to see if they are the cause or indeed one of the water tight inspection hatches not being water tight but most are located where, if they were leaky it would be salt and fresh water.
Like you say I'll keep an eye on it but appreciate your help.

Hi
I'm interested in the MF755. Can you please let me know what you think about the heads compartment. What is the headroom approx, and is it really small ?
Thanks

I suppose it is all relative, I upgraded from an 18 footer with no heads to a full sea toilet and basin in the heads so for me it's luxury but for many on this forum with larger vessels they may see it completely different. I'm 6 foot and medium build and can 'reverse' in no issue, shut the door and emerge with clean hands and perfectly respectable looking. It allows for you to take guests with out any issues or embarrassment but we still tend to use the facilities when we moor up rather than default to the boat. On the boat in general I couldn't be happier, the outboard allows for very quiet cruising with plenty of storage and a great turn of speed when you want it, I cruise at 24 knots and WOT gets me to 34 on calm seas and 31 on anything less than F4. Only irritation is where to store the tender as the swim platform is no good for that but the roof or foredeck is a good enough compromise.

Interesting. So when you "reverse" in, are you able to stand, or is it crouching over for a man to pee ☺️ Is there elbow room?

There is a degree of 'crouch' for some functions but for a small boat fully acceptable. If you have a weak bladder and want unhindered head room to stand and perform in the heads buy a bigger boat and pay for that privilege.
