I have a Volvo 2030. I regularly replace the raw wated impeller but wonder if there is also another impeller on the fresh water side that I am unaware of.
Any thoughts appreciated.

I think you'll find a fresh water centrifugal water pump running off the fan belt on the front of the engine.
As it's centrifugal it's not self-priming and no maintenance is required, although on very old engines you used to be able to grease the bearings!
