Thanks to everybody for their input.
Have decided to move primary filter to make it easier to change and inspect.
Sampling from tank would indicate that I have neither water or crud in it, Dover fuel is pretty good as they have heavy volume turn over.
So in future I will change fuel filters on a less frequent basis probably every two years, which in volume terms will still be minimal.
