I met a couple of french boats late last year who were en route to trenerife, and gonna join a frenchie arc regatta thing starting from tenerife, i think. Does anyone know what it might have been called? I know that their route tookem down the african coast, to other frenchie places like ivory coast, and then a short xing to presumably go via french guyana and so on, and it sounds a bit more rallyish than 1. Give money to arc people 2. leg1 start at las palmas finish at st lucia 3 You were 187th, sir.

Also with it being french there will be more interesting seminars about how to make soufflés on board, and choosing the correct wine, and probably free wimmin included too. Much better than seminars about washing onions, and wearing sandals, dark socks and Monty-style desert rat shorts with a belt, which i believe are amongst the ARC rules.

Ah! But do they:
1: have crew uniforms where a crew member wears a t-shirt which says Mojomo Crew which is tucked into his tan coloured shorts with a leather belt and a pair of Crocs and the skipper is wearing the same except that his t-shirt says skipper?
2: allow the use of 1300 litres of diesel for a crossing?
3: sing songs that will get on your nerves?

Hadn't seen that one - found the other one on a link from a French website and hadn't noticed it was available in English 'till I looked for it to post the link earlier. The amazon trip looks an interesting one.

There's also a Classic Boat Transat starting from a W. African port which should be quite spectacular as the boats from the French Med Classic rallies will be turning up there.
