I second Treguier and would add Ploumanac'h with its spectacular approach. For families there is a great walk round the shoreline to the tourist bay of St Guirec which has sandy beaches, cafes and family friendly restaurants.

If you come in at the top of the tide, you won't believe the sight of the entrance channel at low water.

To route yourself back from the CI's to Cherbourg, stop off at Dielete (sorry about the spelling). You'll be pleased.

In case you didn't believe the 1st warning - ONLY TRY TO BERTH AT SLACK WATER.

Re Treguier - on no account attempt to enter or leave the marina when the tide is running - use the waiting pontoon in stead. You have been warned!

I would recommend Granville. Access is approx. 3hrs each side of High tide. If you have to wait, go and have a look at Chausey. Watch out for the tides around this area, they can be "serious".
