French Polynesia Charter - Maupiti Pass

Will skipper a charter yacht from Raiatea three weeks in July. I've sailed here ten years ago; part of a circumnavigation. We never attempted Maupiti, which pass is not recommended in most cruising guides. In fair conditions, however, googling I've found that it should be possible. Anyone here with experience from this? Any hints and tips will be much apprecieted!

Sailed there on our honeymoon charter about 4 years ago. We were given the number of a guy that lives right at the harbour entrance that could advise us on how it looked before setting out. Took his advice and went. Remember the entrance being really spectacular. Breakers on both sides on both sides of the boat and a dolphin escort through the channel!
