Had to take my Gear Box up to French Marine for repair last week. The service I received from both Brian the engineer and Richard the parts man was fantastic turned the whole thing around very quickly, kept me informed of progress and cost very reasonable.

No connection with this company just wanted to praise a local firm and would not hesitate in recommending them.

+1. Never had major work done there but I have always been very impressed by the friendly advice I have had from them. Got all the bits and bobs for a major engine service there and they could not have been more helpful

Worth adding my own appreciation. When my low pressure fuel line developed a pinhole that sprayed diesel everywhere on my way into Brightlingsea it was I believe Mr French himself who sorted me out with a custom replacement on the next day,a Good Friday, and at very modest cost.

Another vote for them. I traded outboards a few years ago and they sold the old one within days for an excellent price. On another occasion I had an outboard problem which would not go away. I took it back after their first 'fix' failed and they persevered until it worked. Very impressed.

I found them very helpful when I had a Yanmar. They were also kind and polite in pointing out a stupid mistake I had made and telling me how to fix it. What they said to each other after I left I don't know but it took ten minutes to fx the problem following their advice so I was happy!
