french flares

whilst walking round the french equivilent to Lidl in cherb at the weekend, Carrefour. I noticed next to the women underwear and the strawberry tarts they had a rather large bin of life jackets and red handheld flares in packs of three for 9 euros. thought it was a good price until i tried to read the operating instruction and looked at the quality of product. think i will put my life in the hands of pains wessex if anything went wrong. rather than buying cheap flares.

I know some forum members have bought french flares for there boat. what did you buy.

Since when was Carrefour the French equivalent of Lidl? After all there is a Lidl in Cherbourg as well as Carrefour.
