We are planning to take our boat through the French inland waterways to the Med, leaving the UK in mid April. Boat is a 42 foot Sea Ray Sundancer.

We have several queries that we would appreciate answers to.

Where do we find prices and availability of Marina space at the Arsenal Marina in Paris. We would like to leave our boat there for 4 – 6 weeks while we return to the UK for a work break. We have been unable to unearth any information on the internet, does anyone have information on availability and pricing?

Any more information on where we can leave our boat on the canal system for 4 – 6 weeks at a time?

I can find no information on Marinas with Pump-out services for waste tanks. Do these exist?

Many thanks in advance

Graham

Hi we've just returned from the med via the canals, we stopped in the arsenal, they told us they do not take pre bookings. we are 30ft cat & were charged 23euro per night, cant help with cost of your length, however think you may have probs as there is limited space for long vessels.
There are a lot of places to stop but it is hit n miss if there is room as a lot are taken up with peniche liveaboards. It does depend on which canals you are travelling on as you didn't say can't offer more. please feel free to pm if you want any further info
hope this helps.

Hi, we are toying with taking the Canal Midi from Gironde through to the med in a Snowgoose Elite /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif but wonder about the width of locks and bridges, the Elite is 16'6" beam, will we fit do you know? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

in there last year, you just turn up and they will give you a berth, i was 9 mts and it was 20 euros a night, this included electric water showers, every thing, very nice place and well worth a stay, good security also.enjoy, there are facilitys at st jean de losne, which is north of lyon, they take long term bookings also.
