Hope it's ok to post a heads-up that FW now has 80 unique pages of detailed km by km information on every navigable inland waterway in France. All free to view. Previously we covered perhaps 50% and not in such rigorous detail. It's been a 2-year project, working with waterways expert David Edwards-May.

This looks like a fantastic resource for us ditch crawlers. We are contemplating a cruise from St Jean to Bordeaux next summer (and back) and I'm sure we will be making full use. Thanks and much appreciation for all the effort that has obviously gone into this project.

Re: French canals and rivers

Well done! I know only too well how much work goes into a pilot book!

FRENCH CANAL ROUTES TO THE MEDITERRANEAN (http://www.gentlesailing.com/french_canal_routes.htm) has sold over 2000 copies, I think, since I first published it. It has become more or less the standard pilot book for those considering this route. Now that it is available as a download at £10 it is very affordable.

Interestingly GENTLE SAILING ROUTE TO THE MEDITERRANEAN (http://www.gentlesailing.com/gentle_sail_to_med.htm) is now selling in almost equal numbers on a daily basis but maybe that has something to do with it being only £5

Both trips are really fun and worthwhile and not nearly as daunting as some want to make out!
