Free WiFi in the Solent

Red Funnel have apparently installed some wifi antennae on the Calshot Tower so that their customers can have wifi on their ferries.

So if you are cruising the solent and feel the need for some wifi you should be able to connect to it.

I was by the tower the other day and there is a free, non password one called "calshot". I connected to it and got the footy scores OK on my phone.

The car ferries have had wifi onboard for years - prefixed with the name red funnel - usually a bit slow though when everyone logs on. I usually switch off wifi and pick up Southamptons 4G, it's much faster.
