Although possibly attempting to teach many a Granny to suck eggs, I thought this might be useful to some... I've spent a little time with a WAP emulator on my PC in order to avoid the costs of searching these WAP links to free weather and tide info for mobile phones. You will need a WAP enabled mobile - try putting these links in as bookmarks... they seem to work fine on mine...
Met Office Shipping Forecasts at:
http://wmlproxy.google.com/wmltrans...office.gov.uk@2Fdatafiles@2Foffshore.html/c=0
Tidal Predictions from NTSLF at:
http://www.pol.ac.uk/wap/index.wml
If you go there you can find predictions for your local area and bookmark it. For example, Devonport is at:
http://www.pol.ac.uk/cgi-bin/waptde?port=0002
Another good weather wap site is:
http://wap.weatheronline.co.uk
and also:
http://wap.weatherweb.net/marinehome.wml
which gives general situation, area forecasts, wind and weather for the UK France and Spain.
If you want to search for yourself you could also try dear old google on wap at:
http://wap.google.com/wml/
(Try looking up PocketDoctor which is also a mine of info on medical matters)
(I have no connection or interest in any of these sites - apologies if I've made any typos)
