Free UK charts for download with ebay PC plotter

Or you could just download yourself for nothing. It doesn't come with any UK charts, and since there are no free UK charts other than hooky copies, then it's up to you.

If it's SeaClear then it is free, another free one you could try is Open CPN, you can find out a bit more if you search the forums for SeaClear/Open CPN...

Well I knew this couldn't be anything worth having. I just hope this isn't a sailor who is trying to lure people into parting with cash to download rubbish charts. Could be dangerous if you thought it was uptodate for navigational purposes.

Which isn't to say that SeaClear & OpenCPN can't be useful things to have & use, but they are (obviously) only as good as the chart data you use them with & for the software designers to put them up as freeware is admirable I think. I've enjoyed playing around with both of them and have just got hold of some 2009 CM93 chart data, which is compatible with Open CPN, so may end up using it some more. I think the best way to use both is by scanning in paper charts, I'm still learning...

I've just downloaded Open CPN and it seems great.
It should read your cm93 charts. Just click on toolbox then select charts. Scroll to find cm93 click on it and click button to add selection.
if you use a wheel mouse go to toolbox then etc and click the gui wheel mouse box.
To get depths displayed go to vector charts and click soundings.
Tracks can be saved to disc and routes can be activated by right click

brilliant in my opinion

Yes it does read CM93, previously I only had 2003/5, now have 2009. Also want to try MaxSea 10 see how that compares to Open CPN but haven't tried installing it on Win Vista yet...
