Free satellite TV via internet

They don't seem to offer a free trial and the screenshot doesn't look very impressive. I notice that the streaming rate is 312K bits/sec. Wouldn't think that this would give much bandwidth for a decent picture in full screen mode.

Probably be OK for getting the news and weather but I don't think you'd want to watch a movie on it.

I don't know this one specifically but have used similar. Don't expect an endless list of Sky type channels, they are generally fairly obscure free channels with a few like Parliament 24 chucked in.

Slingbox provides a great picture once you get up to 300Kbps, and a watchable one, (not full screen), down to around 150Kbps.

Over the years I've tried a few of these free TV on the internet things, and I guess so many people log on that you dont get enough bandwidth to get a decent picture.

Not a free one but www.liveuk.tv offer a good service. You subscribe monthly, so you can just subscribe for the period of a holiday for example. Also, you can "buy" just a particular sporting event. The streaming worked fine for me even at 300 Kb/s; this seems slow in bandwidth terms but in practice because of buffering e.t.c. it works really well.

As I said not free ..................... but

Alan.
