Just to follow up on an earlier thread, Forumites might be interested in taking a look at the US National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) online publications site at http://pollux.nss.nima.mil/pubs/.

The Sailing Directions alone make for a worthwhile visit.

All of the info is free, and downloadable - all seems to be in PDF format. These are big files (broadband needed for reasonable download times), and while many files may be too big to print off (in total), it would be simple to print chapters for particular areas of interest.

Also, the files can be stored on CD-ROM for onboard computer use.

Yes. Got this last year. My brother (a professional printer) printed these and encapsulated them for me.

Quite good.

Re: You brother sounds like someone worth knowing!

Not at all, one is encouraged by this site to download. Sailing Dirtction for the Pacific are not yet available in PDF formant and they even appologize for the inconvenience.

Then get ICE to make your own tables and Umlands Short Guide to Cel.Nav, his star-, moon-, and sunsight calculators wx-tide and you have all for cel nav.

Hope it helps.
