Heres something I knocked up a few years back. Have a play with it, its a small excel spreadsheet to allow you to view boat data of many many cruising boats, add your own if not listed and it will calculate it for you, wiring size calculator, power requirement calculator, explanations etc.

Looks pretty darn good Slarty! Lots of useful info - nice the way it picked up my boat type/article (Whitby 42 - notes from the designer - Ted Brewer). Impressive!

Nice spreadsheet
I just tested it and weight of additional gear (D17) does not seem to do anything. Is this correct?

No it doesnt, never got around to adding the function doh ! you can manually add the weight to the boat weight, which gives a fairly reasonable calculation.
One day I will add to it......................
