Free - out of time life raft for practice only

I have a canister type life raft that went out of time June 2008 and is available for free.

Free, but not without conditions:

- It is not to be used as a life raft. I am not prepared to enter into discussion with a view to it being used as a life raft.

- Once you have played with pulling the cord and so on, you will dispose of it responsibly

- If you decide to play with it away from sheltered waters you do a risk assessment. e.g. what will you do if it floats away or starts to sink with the kids in it?

- You collect it. We are in downtown Ipswich and it is at the top of our three story house. It needs two people to lift it safely. I can't lift anything at present.

Any replies that start with "What you should do is...", or "Have you thought of..." or similar, will be ignored.
 
would be fabulous for the MOB weekend we've got organised in September Shmoo..... can I put a reserve on it for that subject to the rest of the gang agreeing?

We'd take lots and lots of photos, and advise on easiest ways of entering LR from water, from boat, exiting LR, and general experiences, so would be good value for your generous donation!
 
OK. Morgana has a call option that expires 1800 this Friday.

Sorry about the short timetable but we are in tidy-up mode. This only strikes every few years and doesn't last long...
 
I second Morgana's submission, as I will also be on the MOB weekend Sept 18th at Marconi Sailing Club.

I can accomodate it in my Car.
The only issue is that I am on the boat and heading round to Shotley tomorrow.
I could collect Sunday lunch or we could get it in your car tomorrow and then put it aboard Sireina and thus back to my car.

I am sat on the A14 waiting for the RAC to come an fix the car again.
2nd time in a week it has let me down :-(

Thanks for picking it. Not much use on the A14 though...
 
O.K. folks I have a small problem.
I have the Liferaft at home.
I am not at all sure that I will be able to get to the MOB weekend.
We are off sailing for the 2 weeks leading up to the event and there is no room for the LR on board Sirenia.
I had hopped to dump it on Jim FullCircle the other weekend but he had to forgo the pleasures of Evo sailing for legitimate reasons.

Can someone who is going to the MOB event collect it from Cambridge at any time or from Ramsholt the weekend after next?

If this helps at all, I can collect from Clive and will be in Southend area this weekend. Either that or I can deliver to Pyro/Bernie but not sure if they are involved in the wekend.

Patrick that would work brilliantly. Maybe store it at Carter & Ward, as I wil be scrubbing off there next week.
