Crew #2 opens cockpit locker, iPhone flies into 3m of skanky water.

Who is to blame?

Doesn't he know it is blessed by the deity Jobs, who will be resurrected in due course to lead the faithful to an Android free future? He needs to get himself down to the nearest place of worship (Apple store), thrash himself soundly with a birch twig and beg forgiveness. Floating Smartphone waterproof cases can be had for under 2 quid inc p+p on e-bay including a neck lanyard - and the phone & touchscreen can still be used inside it.

It's cheaper than insuring it! Why would you not get one?

BTW, never keep your phone in a shirt pocket unsecured, cos it will fall out when you bend down to deal with a mooring line.

Why has nobody dived down to get it? If the phone is under a year old it will have applecare, if older than a year then they should have bought applecare!

ETA: I forgot to add that once you get the free replacement, it will then sync with your backup automatically over the air so you don't even have to go back to your PC
