Sound electric supplies are available in many Greek harbours. But in some, local initiatives rule.
This quayside lamp post was being replaced. The local sparky, while connecting the electrics, enquired whether a nearby visiting vessel wanted shoreside power. "Nai!" was the eager reply. "Gimme a plug, then" was the reply (in Greek).
So, now this quayside has free electric power. Unfused. Of uncertain polarity. At one stage this last summer a six outlet extension was filled, with wires snaking around the quayside tripping up the unwary on their evening volta.
