This might appear unusual. I'm looking for crew experieince. History - RYA Com Crew, Dinghy Level 1 & 2, Day Skipper Theory (exam 08).

I'm looking for any crewing opportunities I can get. Aged 41, in full time employment, & 4 children.

Sailing is becoming a hobby. But before I comit financially I would like to gain as much sail time as possible.

Is anybody interested or knows someone who is short handed.

Regards

Pop into your local sailing club, should take about 5 minutes to get yourself a berth, we are always looking for crew and ones with some experience get snapped up fast.

Avagoodweekend......

Simon,

I take my Bavaria 38 abroad to the Continent for much of the summer, slipping crews along the way - on average about once a week. Like many others I ask only a contribution to running costs. For new crew, I arrange a pint and a chat sometime during the spring - to give both sides a clear idea of what to expect.

Next summer I'm off to Holland, coastal and inland. Perhaps this suits your ambitions? PM me and I'll send you a copy of the schedule in January.

PS You don't work at the GF (as was) plant, do you? I have happy memories of my time there....

UK Only sailed Pembroke Shire & large reservoirs. Comp Crew at Faro Portugal. I'm not fussed where to sail. Am prepared to travel if the right opportunity arises.

Many thanks for your response.

Thanks for your reply. I'm interested. Let me know what details you require from me. Can you give me some idea of your boat, where you sail from / to. Perhaps a get together to see how we get on.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I would be very interested. If you forward your schedule I can see whether this works out with my 2008 dates. Don't know GF Plant sorry. I work for Constant Air Systems Ltd 01494 469543 (direct). A get together meeting sounds good idea. I await your reply to confirm dates etc.

Simon - welcome to the forum.

a couple of tips - most of us use the Private Message (PM) facility to exchange personal details. You need to bear in mind that anybody on the www can see them on the forum. There is a chance that nasty people will pick up on your details and harrass you with spam mail and calls, or possibly worse.

Similarly, when conversations become one-to-one, they are not only private but also of no interest to the rest of us, hence the PMs.

This is why Vitalman and Hermit asked you to send them a PM.
You can click on Send Message, and when you get a response you will see a flashing flag in the options bar, so click on Check Messages and all will be revealed !!

Maybe you have already worked this out and done it - apologies if I am telling you something you already know!

Best of luck with finding some sailing !
