Stratford Books on Abe books are selling these classics new, print on demand.

Still more than I'm silling to pay but other's might be interested.

I've no connection with Abe Books or Stratford Books.

I got the two that cover the area I sail when the reproductions were first printed. Very interesting insight to how things have changed over the years, both from a sailing & a geographic perspective.

Some things haven't changed. I love his description of Cuan Sound.

"I have never had such an awful piece of steering. The helm was always in movement, sometimes very slightly, and the vessel's head would remain in mid-channel. Then there would come a more violent rush, or the surging eddies would catch her stem, and away the old craft would sheer direct for the lurking mischief on the right, or the open destruction on the left."

I've only ever managed to sail through 2.5 times. The 0.5 was when I was left with no other choice bearing down on Cleit rock, He had to do it under sail.

I have all 4 1985 reprints.

Love reading them when I'm cruising.

His trip down the Chenal du Four was 'interesting' :)
