Of to France on Saturday - great! Only one small problem, I'm stopping in Le Havre while 10 guys head off by train to Paris. One consolation is that the boat has TV so I can watch the game in France at any rate. It will be interesting to see what state they stagger back onboard in on Sunday morning for the return trip?? I suppose it will depend on who wins /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Anybody got the names of some good resturants in Le Havre near the marina?

I just hope the TV will work on the boat - Sunseeker Predator 58 - but it's not satellite. Otherwise we will have to go and find a dodgy bar somewhere that may be showing the game. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

You might be best advised to practice a "south efrican eccent" - as you can be sure thats who the locals will be supporting.......

Turned out there were 12 people including 2 Saarf Afrikans and 2 women. Arrived on the boat on Friday and all arseoled by the time we left at 05.00 on Saturday morning. The crossing was a bit choppy so there was much talking to Neptune - but I did warn them. I reckon I could have started an aluminum recycling plant out of the beer cans that were taken off the boat before departure. Not to mention the odd empty bottle of Sambouca!!

Anyway, got into Le Havre around 12.30 and off they went by taxi to Paris. 2 of them had tickets, 2 bought on the black market and the rest watched on big screens and in various bars around Paris.

Me and the crew? Spent the rest of the day clearing up and trying to unblock the toilet - great! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Watched the game in a sports bar in Le Havre town and then went back to bed!!

The party arrived back around 5.30 and slept until I had to force them up so we could leave by 12.00.

The return crossing was considerably better and we made a steady 26 knots in flat seas and bright sunshine. Some pictures for those who might be interested.

14 actually - crew and I were also on board and we had the stern cabin. The others slept where they fell it seemed to me!! Bodies strewn all over the place - but then 4 of them did not sleep at all the first night.LOL

They were comatose the rest of the following day however - /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
