Thanks for the input on my framing question. It generally confirms what I felt was a good way forward.
The framing is for furniture and is not structural in any way.

I overdid it and used oak and iroko.

Waste of time and money. But do use bronze screws and do paint it properly!

For the interior I used A2 stainless screws. These will fair well and you save a few bob too. I used Anglia Stainless.
