There were 3 " Fox " designs all built by Copland Boats , the Foxhound , Foxterrier and Foxcub ( I think ). I had a mate who owned a Foxhound and for it's size was an excellent little cruiser . Nicely fitted out and sailed really well . Sorry I can't expand on that as it was a long time ago. His was fitted with a Vire 2 stroke bit I would expect them to have diesels now.
According to my 1970s British Sailing Cruiser Guide the 23'9" Foxhound "Rates as a Quarter Ton but majors on accommodation. Two layouts offer a choice between 'railway carriage' and dinette; a fairly tall rig with backstay tensioner should appeal to go-faster fans. Smart and commodious"
When Deckmaster saw the subject 'Foxhound' he immediately imagined some remakable story about the famous Charles Nicholson designed ocean racer (1940s-1950s and then later). What a come down.
By the way Her Majesty The Queen and HRH Prince Philip owned Bloodhound, not Foxhound, though same generic type and Nicholson, definitely not Uffa! She sailed many unpublicized miles at sea.
