Looking to get involved in the Hamble racing of Foxer Dinghies....anyone know what they are like to sail and anything to look out for when looking to buy...? While on the subject anyone got one for sale?

As you seem fairly local try a visit to Warsash Sailing Club(Shore House) and have a look at their outside Notice board. Also perhaps a member will let you in to the Lobster Quay part of the club(mostly dinghies here) and the notice board inside, there were two for sale a little while ago; about 4 at Warsash as I recall race with th Hamble 'lads' including the designer David Thomas on Sundays,rain or shine!
A phone call to Sharon on 01489 583575 and she might go and have a look for you downstairs on the board.

Sold my Mk2 a couple of years ago through Boats and Outboards.
Mk 1's are generally cheaper, Mk 2's have a moulded interior, (might still be current)
Most are rigged like a Lazer/Topper, so check in the mast well for leaks/damage.
A sloop rig is also available.
Also contact Hamble River SC, for 2nd hand ones.

Re Foxer Wanted
I have a Foxer dinghy sail number 43 which I am going to advertise on EBay and Boats and Outboards in the next couple of days. The dinghy was part of the Hamble Fleet but I have not raced her for a couple of years due to work commitments and it seems a pity for her not to be used.
Hamble Foxer Fleet have some very good close racing and have between 15-25 boats race on a Sunday they also have Friday evening racing
