Yes...

Anyone used Fowey Harbour Marine Engineering? Are they good??

[/ QUOTE ]Yes, and yes.

They fixed my 2003T when it developed a high pressure oil leak when I was visiting Fowey. Helpful, friendly, trustworthy, reasonably priced.

If they are the crowd with a work shop just up the road from the car ferry I found them very helpful last year after my outboard had a blocked carb. I would quite happily use them again.

Re: Yes...

Cost effective? If I buy the engine in Germany they want to charge me 9k euros but only 7k euros in the UK. That is before I upgrade the alternator and control panel. Apparently work rates are the same if he fits it here or the UK and I only pay for the travel and accommodation not the travel time. The bonus for me is I can have a detailed conversation about what is happening. If I use the dealers engineer here, he has to travel two hours each day to get to me and I suspect will fit other jobs in around my work along the way as it is winter after all. The UK guy will come and work until the job is done and then leave. Ok, commissioning in the spring may be fraught if I have problems but I may pop her in the water before he leaves to prove his work. It does not cost anywhere near as much over here as in the UK for the crane! We shall see.
