planning first trip into Fowey tomorrow morning - 27ft Aquador. Aiming to get in for around 11.00 am. Any suggestions as where to moor on visiting pontoons - what to look out for. Tried contacting harbour master, but no answer as yet. Many thanks.

Lovely place.

No real problem. Visitor's pontoon to starboard as you head up the river past Polruan. Fuel at Tom's yard.

Moorings also to starboard under the woods. Still a dinghy ride to the town quay.

Good fish n' chips at Sams, walk down the High St to Sam's restaurant (no booking, no credit cards!)

The Royal Fowey Yacht Club is good for a meal and showers, as is the Fowey Gallants.

Umm. We'll be there probably in a week or two.

This time of year, they might have removed some pontoons or not. There maybe a pontoon at Polruan, and a short stay one at Fowey. Or maybe not.

Hey ho. Head up river. If nothing suites below. The pontoons are made into a big raft. Great for walking the dog, or sticking the generator at one end. No one else there.

Water taxies may not be working, so radio Ferry, who will pick you up. Else dinghy.

The life boat pontoon may be available for short stay, if all else fails.

Fowey in summer is easy. Winter, umm. But the HM will help.

Just bum around and go up river a bit, sure you will find some where. Thing is with winter, you can park the genni most any place, no one comes. Watch tv, heating on, all for a couple of cwid. Nearly no one comes to collect money.

Hi hlb

Was thinking along the same lines, as the 'season' is over. Will try the Poluran one first. Treating a few family members to a breakfast for doing some work on the house and the weather is looking ideal for an excuse to get out. Been to Salcome a number of times and thought we head in the other direction for a change.

On a seperate note, have just had a liitle boy (first born), 10wks old - Alex. Having difficulty finding a life jacket small enough for him. His mum is having kittens at the thought. First trip out since little'un born.

Many thanks.
