For years now I've been looking for a detachable clip to hang fenders off the guard rail, so that SWMBO can easily detach and store them, as well has having easy height adjustment.

Well, on a side stand at Excel, I've found the perfect solution.

They are called "Fend-Fix", made by a Swedish company called Aronowitsch & Lyth AB. Moulded in what looks like white Nylon, with a hole for a 8mm rope, a barbed catch to clip over the rail, and a self jamming recess for the rope.

It is brilliant, and cost me £25 for 3 packs of 2. They also do a version for guard wires as well.

They are going to save SWMBO a lot of time- got to keep her happy.

What's wrong with a chinese hitch? Secure and free. Most women tie knots better than men given the chance.

I bought some as well could not agree more, the idea is just so simple, strong and well thought out. i have clipped one on and put my entire weight on it.
They can only be removerd from the wire at a certain angle which faces inward.

I know the knot is just as easy but tell that to my crew who lost 2 fenders with their so called knots last year.

Nothing's wrong with a good knot, well tied. But if you have to re-adjust the height quickly, then to undo & re-tie, is a bit of a pain.
Come on, stop being a cheap skate and buy your first mate some. You never know, she might be very, very appreciative.

She'd give me what for if I bought clips for fenders, implying I don't like her knots! I know this a 'grandmother to suck eggs' thing, but if it's speed you are after of course a clove hitch with the last pass looped rather than passed through comes off in one movement. THen when you know where you're fenders are going to be long-term you can revert to the secure version.
Happy clipping!

Couldn't agree more, have had some for 4 years. The only problem now is that this year the plastic/nylon has aged, so the clips to keep it secured to the cable are snapping off!

Must buy new sets this year. Whenever someone else has to move a fender though, they don't seem to understand how to do it!!
