Why is the fouling significantly worse on stb side than port.
Been the same at each lift out for last 15 + years
Swinging mooring.
Also the type of fouling is different, Port side usual slimey stuff, Stb side weed and barnacles.
Thought of prevailing wind presenting one side of the boat to the sun more frequently but then that would be the port side.

I have noticed similar problems, and always assumed that it was due to different light levels, but thought it was because the ebb is much longer than flood where my mooring is.

Does weed do better in shade or sun though ??

Where I moor we have a similar effect but I put it down to the fact that we all lash our helms to port so that all the boats swing the same way. This means that our starboard bow is always presented to the tide rather than port. so we see different fouling on each side.

I moor to a pontoon lying roughly E-W. The port (S facing) side always grows more weed than the starboard (N facing) side, so I think that sunlight encourages growth.
