FOS Tri Colour LED Nav Light. Any Good?

I thought the purpose of a tricolour is to reduce the power consumption from three lamps to one. It does also raise the light from deck level to masthead so is more visible from afar but arguably less so from close to.
As low wattage LEDs are now available which consume very little, the reason for not using traditional deck level lights surely disappears so I have not fitted a tricolour on my last two boats. It also gets rid of troublesome mast wiring.
My advice is don't use a tricolour.

The consumption of three sets of LED's will be far smaller than an old Tricolour with a bulb. As a sailor I'm a fan of tri-colours, less so of masthead anchor lights.
