Apologies to all...we've suffered an unforeseen millennium-type issue in a kind of British railways way (four years late) and most PC users with system calendars set to 2004 will not be able to log on today, although all previous posts remain available to view.

To compound the issue we also have some maintenance issues going on with our secure access to servers and so we are not going to get this bug fixed today. I'll keep you all updated with progress.

Meantime, you can gain access if you are prepared to reset system clocks to a 2003 date. There is some risk to your system in doing this regarding file management and so this is an advisory, rather than a recommendation.

Mac OSX users may find themselves unaffected.

Once again, sorry, not a great way to start the new year...

Hi Kim,

Just logged on using a PC with a system date of 01/01/2004 - no problems. Maybe this bug only works South of the border?

Anyway, a good New Year to you & your team

Oh you think so?

Thank heavens... I made a stab at who I was last time I was asked and the machines did the rest. Do me a favour, if you are planning to have the wrong sort of leaves on the line again make a note of who I am so if I forget you can remind me,,,,,,,,,,, eh?

Go to 'user options' at top of page. Click on the edit button for ''Personal information, email, password, etc' Type in your password. Type it again in the 'confirm password' field

Then you can login with your chosen password

Re: Brendan well done

'picking' on you! I have a go at all the antipodeans! Have a look in mobo chat,

MainlySteamy and Oxgirl pick at me as well, though I resort to my previous arguement that having had Ozzie and Tazmanian girlfriends, I'm battle scarred.

Glad you're back in and working ok

Though in hindsight, advising you to go to your control panel if you didn't know login and password wouldn't have worked if you couldn't have already got there. Doh

Re: Getting to MoboChat

If you look toward bottom of page on right, it says 'jump to' and next to it you can click on a scroll box with a list of the forums here, including Motor Boat Chat.
