Quite a few of us have met and have become firm friends. (regardless of warnings from Mrs G that "they may all be mad axe murderers").
Even last weekend I bumped into four at Port Solent.
How many more do we unwittingly rub shoulders with that we don't recognise I wonder? I'm sure that I'll see a few this summer (winter).
I know I'm not the only one from this forum crossing the Atlantic with the ARC this November. Perhaps we could compliment the Cherbourg meet with one further south for a few of us and send the pics back from Las Palmas?

We'll probably be en route to or at Las Palmas when the Cherbourg meet happens. Leaving Falmouth end July and leaving the boat for a month in Cascais (probably) before the 'dry run' leg to the Canaries. So there'll be two boats, at least!

I was actaully in touch over a peroid of months with a Butttlescutter, before we both realised that our boats were next to each other in the marina.

There is a forum burgee and, although it originated on the Dark Side, I think you're allowed to use it too /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif.

Go to Boatone's Boats on the Web site and click on the "YBW Forum Burgees" link. All the details are there.

Or PM the notorious hlb. You'll end up dealing with him anyway!

it was designed to reflect the internet element rather than just boats - hence the mouse. Clearly we could debate the correct shape for a glass (we could probably get a 100 + post on whether beer should be served in straights or jugs ( /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif ) but there seems little issue with the overall concept of a tipple.

John Perry (Stingo) took mine for extensive testing in sunny climes and sadly reports that it has faded somewhat but still survives, BrendanS has tested his at over 50 knots and hlb's got one 'quite a few years old' and that hasn't fallen to bits yet either!

I am of course bearded and drink pints (ocasionally)....

Tested to destruction. I think I'm going to have to buy a new one this year.

Seriously though, it's identified me to many forumites, and I've met many people from here by virtue of flying it. Glad to say I've made many friends on the way!
