Good point, all the Travelodges i've stayed in so far have had a bar and restuarant, but i've e-mailed them to check, will let you know as soon as i get a reply.

Cheers

May be, although I am hoping to decamp to Cherbourg the following weekend (see above) and need to register lots of brownie points with Mrs jhr - which may not be achieved by staggering in, smelling of booze, in the small hours of Monday or Tuesday morning. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ok, so i couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery!!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Apparently the Travelodge does NOT have a Bar, but i am well informed there is a pub right across the road called 'The Duck and the Bay' or something like that!

So we are still on for a few pints if you wish.

Does anyone know the area??

Cheers

Al.

Still working on that one, Too!!! I'll tell her it was your idea!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Infact it was actually Jez's idea.(bloody MSN!!!)

Was thinking if it was in the Lodge then she'd join us, and then maybe take Callum up too bed.

BTW, flights are all booked, we arrive at airport around 3pm, and will get taxi to the Travelodge, so as you have all day at the show, and return flight is at 6pm on the Tuesday.
Looking forward to it.

Just need someone to confirm the Pub name and address, and we can meet a few other too.

Cheers

Al.

I am attending the show on Monday 17th, mainly so that I won't be tripping over weekend sailors on Sat & Sun.

Have booked the Liphook Travelodge for the 16th and 17th mainly because it was £15 for the Sunday and £26 for the Monday, but you have to book one night at a time or they charge you £26 for both, which is a rip off.

So, if there are any parties, I will travel!

Not a huge expert on Southampton's Pubs (with good reason, mostly
crazy.gif
) but I assume they must mean The Dock 'O The Bay which does look as if it's bang opposite the Travelodge. No knowledge of it, but it looks OK if a little yuppified.

Some Southampton pubs are a bit, erm, "characterful" for a quiet drink.

Edit: On closer inspection, it's closed on Sunday night /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif.

Just found out I'll be in the good ole US of A for the entire time the show's on as SWMBO's being sent there for work, so it's daft not to take advantage of the paid for flights & accomodation. Leave here on the 12th and don't get back until the 22nd.

I don't know whether to rejoice over all the half price electronics I'll be able to bring back or cry over missing the show /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Most of me is gutted though really, we were really looking forward to going this year now that we've actually got a boat.

Guess I should look at hiring a boat for a day whilst we're over there, to make up for it.

How far are you from the Jolly Sailor ?????
(The pup on the Hamble near sealine sales)
That has a water front so the other half of the Forum that go boating could join in with out missing a week end on the water ?
/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
They do have a water taxi

typical /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Chance to get a beer from someone and they recommend a pup? (sure he means a pub) thats miles away.
