After the success of the C/B trip i thought it might be prudent to suggest a forum burgee. 1. to comemorate the first of hopefully many forum meetings.
2. to aid spotting others on entrying a marina.
3. to keep up with the locals who seem to be dressed all over with the things.(how many depends on the height of the mast).

For the design , after the C/B trip

I thought that was a stinky thing - martini glass is not a very practical proposition on a proper boat - free surface and all that ;-)

nah - it's a YBW thing rather than an YM, MBY or PBO thingy.
Haviong just donated mine to Stingo for the next couple of years I am going to have to replace as well [sad]

btw the drink glass could be construed equally well as champagne or martini I suppose

Here\'s a thought..

...why only one burgee?

Given how much scuttlebutters like the division between blue ensigns and red ensigns (tee hee), perhaps we should have a similar heirarchy here? Everybody's user ID shows there date of registration, I think, so it should be easy to establish who are the senior members/council of elders/founding fathers etc. These individuals could have special pennants (or should that be pennance?). On passing a boat flying this burgee, the hoi polloi could then adopt a suitable deferential pose.....

agreed, red burgee for newbies, blue awarded after 1000 posts, white when you get kimmed.

Re:colour blind

Given all the hullaballo about red/blue ensigns, surely the last thing we need is a heirarchy of forumites.

Yep the mouse and glass is fine and my order is in on its way, the idear is to have an event burgee , so they may be collected like boy scout badges and displayed at further events. Why? Well although we had a good turn out it just might make one or two of the competitive ones (who isnt!) join in . And if not then at least we have a momento other that the hangovers and credit card bills.

But we already have a clique system of 1000 2000 etc. Also boat name. Or any other writing come to that. The only problem at the moment is getting a bit of volume so that special ones can be fitted in with them quickly. It's not like just printing on tee shirts. The flags have to be embroidered before stitching and finishing.
