I bought a 250ml can of this white gloss, because it claims to be good on almost any surface, anywhere. I'd like to hear if that's proved to be accurate, or otherwise.

Considering the marine ply items on my dinghy aren't subjected to all weathers, and are unlikely ever to be immersed (centreboard excluded), I'm hoping a good coat or two of Fortress will substitute for the bother of buying and applying epoxy.

Needless to say, if International Paints bothered to sell Toplac in smaller cans, I would certainly have bought that instead. But this looked good enough to me:

I bought some of this to repaint some very rusty old cast iron bench ends. After a bit of light sanding to shift the loose rust I slapped on a coat intending to apply another soon after but never got around to it. That was 6 months ago and they have sat in the garden in the rain and there is no trace of rust showing through anywhere. I am quite impressed at this.

Thanks CO8, sorry to leave it a year before replying.

I was so pleased with the Fortress paint, I went back in the summer and bought a bigger can.

Sadly, I somehow picked up a can of black, when I especially wanted the white. :hopeless:

And I didn't realise till I opened it today, months after chucking the receipt.

Anybody in the Solent area, need some good all-purpose black paint?

Maybe somebody with a half-pot of marine-grade white they don't need, not too old and cludgy? :)
