Tried this on Thursday evening the 19th August 2010. Newly set up, very spick and span and a warm welcome. Not crowded in and a pleasant room with character. Food is good, well cooked to order, nicely presented and an altogether pleasant dining experience. Menu and wine prices are reasonable for this quality and a whole lot better than some of the nosh I have had in Yarmouth. I shall certainly be going back. I have no connection with the place and only went there as a result of another post on this forum for a change. To find, go into The Square, turn into the road that runs alongside the chandlers and it is 50yds on the right just after the Police Station.

Went to Forresters last Wednesday for the first time under the new owners. We tried their "Early Bird" menu which offered 3 courses for £14.50. Many restaurants offering fixed price deals offer very small portions of the cheapest produce but the chef at Forresters is not of that school; portions were generous and quality is first class with many items sourced locally on the IOW. Wine is reasonably priced with good variety of choice. Overall an excellent evening enhanced by a complementary schnapps with the coffee. This new venture sets a standard that no other venue in Yarmouth can match, including the George.

Give Forresters a go, you will not be disappointed.

Foresters - Yarmouth

Ate at the Foresters (under new ownership since May 2010) for the first time on Friday evening. Quiet, but extremely friendly. Food was wholesome, well-cooked, good value and served with a smile. I will certainly be going again.
