formula 36. Any good?

As the title says really, would you be kind enough to share your opinions on this. 1992 formula 36 fitted with tamd61 engines and zf220 boxes. 3 cylinder on board mercruiser generator. Engines done less than 500 hours and been on the hard standing for about 2 years. They are a little 'bling' with regards to exterior seats and interior furnishings but these can be changed over time. Seems cheap compared to British boats of same age and size.

I have seen a few of the smaller Formulas over here.. Bling is a good word to describe them..
They always seem to have more problems with their petrol engines than bits falling off the boat itself..
The boat you are looking at is a v drive I think..And Diesel.
Straight shafts in my opinion are less complicated...
2 years non use can lead to problems Wipers, Electrics, Fans, All expensive if they need replacing, and shipping from the good old US of A.
I am sure some one will come along with some more knowledge for you..

Your right they are shafts and volvo diesels. It seems like good enough quality, nothing seems to be hanging off after 20 years of use. Thanks for your help

Nice deep Vee hull, and seakeeping. You should be looking at the old 36 PC which was a nice boat outside, what makes it looks outdated to some eyes would be the Formula graphics.

Quality wise they are good boats, it is 1992 boat a good survey is suggested as most of how it is would be about maintenance and how this was done.

Low engine hours is not always a good thing and hard standing for two years is also not what I would like, plus its a serious sports boat at the end of the day, not what I would buy for the Irish Sea
Seats and furnishings will be your last worries

The Formula he is looking with those engines should be the cruiser type (similar to a Fairline Targa).

Yes that is the same boat. Thanks for your opinion, seems like the quality is there according to replys and other reading on the internet as long as it has been looked after
