Formica (or similar)

I have just built in a position for my new cooker. The base under the cooker is ply. Where can I get some formica or similar to cover the base, preferably plain white, without having to buy a whole sheet?

Try your local kitchen and/or bathroom installation people. Either that or a local shopfitting company.

Some of them may have some offcuts that would end up in the skip otherwise.

I will have to measure it when I next go aboard. Perhaps the shipping cost might be too great to make it economical - I think I will need a piece about 53mm x 65mm but will have to check.
