And I don't like the way that not all of the blue plastic in the nyloc nut is in use.

I always add a thin one to ease rotation of the clevis pin and to prevent the split pin (or tools) scratching and therefore rusting the (usually expensive) fittingOut of curiosity (well, and ignorance), what is the point of adding a washer in that situation?
