Hi All
I have just been lucky enough to be given one of these. My father-in-law has restored one beautifully; lovely new steam bent gunwales, hull repaired, filled and painted in and out, spars sanded and varnished etc.
BUT - we don't know anything about rigging and sails as these were missing from the 'wreck' he started with.
So any information/photos would be greatly received. It seems to look quite dry, how seaworthy are they? How many people can they take safely? What power outboard would be best?
Have you/do you own one? Why is there so little info out there and why did they stop making them? etc, etc.
Anyway, thanks in advance for any advice.
Ben

I'm not sure if this will be of any use, but my father had the 10" 6 version which had a Gunter rig with light blue sails made by Rockall. The 12" version also had a Portsmouth Yard Stick rating, but I have know idea what it was. Made by a firm in Folkestone, but they went bust/stopped making them. Ours was powered by a 40+ Seagull, mounted off centre.

I may be saying something you already know but a 40+ Seagull is about 3-4 hp, not 40 hp.....
