I know this has been posted before, but if you are travelling on the M20/25/26 please be careful while overtaking L/H drive trucks.I'm losing count of the amount of times I've stopped to act as witness to some poor sod whose got impaled on the front offside bumper of a truck. It really is reaching epidemic proportions and is at its worst when its busy and you're stuck level with the cab, either hold back or get past but DON'T sit level with the cab.
Happy motoring,Al

Hi,
Got the same problem here with rhd vehicles.
The authorities here make life difficult for anybody driving English vehicles and the English think they are being victimised.
Basically, they do not have the correct vision, any more than lhd do on English roads.

According to Top Gear (or was it Fifth Gear, who cares), this is the fastest increasing type of motorway accident only likely to increase further now that we'll have dozens of Latvian lorries bringing in Romanian gypsies by the thousand from tomorrow

Really is scary, guy this morning was turned round the wrong way!Someone last week was pushed about 200m up the motorway sideways,I was in the outside lane on a bike when I saw a similar thing happening about 2 months ago, slowed down as he was collected on the front of a truck and got beeped by a bloke behind.Five seconds later he passed where I would have been on his way to the Armco.
I've seen nine or ten this month.
Perhaps I should move the good ship"whats happened to the GMC's now" a bit closer?

yep. one of our guys got whacked a while ago, though was ok but car a write-off.

Good job he had a disposable camera in the glovebox - took pix which showed the lorry had different plates front and back but eventually lorry compnay paid up. Tho better if he had followed unit18's advice to start...

I had a similare problem years ago when in belgium. I was going round a road works with RHD truck. Some silly twit fitted in the gap I'd left for the trailer to swing into. Course I could not see him cos I was driving on the other side and he'd slipped under the mirror coverage. Anyhow this horn kept bleeting, I looked round and could see nothing, so edged forward with traffic. Every time I moved there was this bleet bleet!!. Eventualy I got out to get a better view. Theres this car right under the trailer. The front axle on the trailer was on the top of his boot and about to climb up his rear window. The old couple inside did look a bit worried at the time!!.../forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

All foriegn trucks have different numbers front and back. Cos it's the trailer thats registered as well. Most british trucks have different numbers too. But thats just cos they forgot to change them when changing trailers. Or more likely left number plate on last trailer so used anything, cos out looks better than nowt../forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

I thought that as long as both numbers were registered to the same person / company then it was permissable to display different numbers.

I could be wrong.......it has been known!!

Remember a story in the press some time ago about a HGV that pulled up at M6 Corley Services and when the driver walked along the side of the trailer discovered a Reliant Robin wedged underneath with the driver and passenger still inside unscathed!!
