Ford sabre engine oil

Bought a boat with 2 ford sabre 120 hp diesels 6 cylinders, I am servicing engines, my book says Remula X20/20W , been to Shell to buy the oil in 20 litres drums to save money, He said they have not got that oil anymore but Donax TA would do, not used this oil, but i am sure its tranmission oil, going to take it back, i used Remula 15/40 in my old ford merlin engine, would it be ok for the sabres, any advice please.

Always used cheap 20/50 in my Cargos

I use Shell Rimula R3X 15/40 in my perkins sabre 135's

In my sabre 135 I have used Rimula R3 and sometimes R4

My sabre 120 gets a diet of chevrolet deisel oil (20l drum from Costco), has done for the last seven years with no apparent ill effects

I found Castrol Multiplant a good oil for the older style engines..

I use AghaBridge (local motorfactor) own brand 15/40 fleet oil in my M135s about £60 for 25L.
